Today it is the 25th of March 2024. The Israeli offensive against Gaza has been going on for months. The Palestinian people in Gaza is dispalced, starved, and suffers overwhelming violence every day. The Israeli government seems willing to commit a genocide. Both their words and their actions show that. Beyond the Israeli political leadership, members of the Israeli forces are executing those hateful actions against Palestinian people and families. In some cases, they film it and brag about it online. Civilian Israelis have also blocked aid convoys going into Gaza.
The oppression of Palestinians by the Israelis is systematic and has been going on for decades. It has now turned into genocide. These monstrous actions demolish the legitimacy of the Israeli state. What is the point of a State that tries to commit genocide? Its duty is to protect its people, but it cannot do so at the cost of oppressing others. If such state tries to ethnically cleanse a region or commit a genocide, then it destroys its own legitimacy. What moral right does a state have to exist if it commits a genocide? Furthermore, such violence and oppression also harms its own Israeli citizens and their security. Peace and security cannot be built on oppression.
While the Israeli atrocities continue, the United States and the west provide support for Israel. Both diplomatic and material, even in the form of weapons and ammunition. The United States is a particularly strong supporter. The population seems to have different views on the issue, some are pro Israel, some are not, some may also be apathetic about the issue. However, the established media does strongly support Israel. They barely cover their atrocities and always try to . They strongly discourage criticism of Israel.
The truth about Israeli crimes is coming out, many people are aware of it. The day may come where there is a consensus that the behaviour of the Israeli forces is wrong. That day, those who supported Israel, who silenced its critics will pretend they had nothing to do with it. They may even try to take advantage of the situation.
